PARKING - City to
Consider Reducing
The Number of Downtown Meters

On September 5th, the day after Labor Day, the Billings City Council
will review and comment on a proposal to implement "meterless" free
parking in the immediate periphery of the core of downtown
Billings. The City Parking Division recently completed a report
to the Advisory Board regarding "Meter and Enforcement Reduction." A
link to the full report can be found below:
METER AND ENFORCEMENT REDUCTION REPORT - PDF

This meter reduction will be a test program that could lead to
permanent free parking in the test area. A map of the proposed area
can be found by clicking on the thumbnail above. If there is no
objection by Council and if the City receives their inventory of
free parking meter bags, 493 meters could "vanish" as early as
October 1st. If you have a comment, please plan on attending the
City Council Work Session on TUESDAY September 6th. (Meeting starts
at 5:30 pm in the City Hall Council Chambers)
