KEEPING DOWNTOWN BEAUTIFUL

What is the Graffiti Removal Program?

* Property owners, merchants, and residents may complete the Graffiti Removal Request Form or call the Downtown Billings Partnership, 294-5060, 24 hours a day, 7 days week to report graffiti on their property. This service is performed by the BID Graffiti Removal Team, ODS! Squad, at no charge within the Business Improvement District. The Graffiti Removal Team will service those areas outside the district for a nominal fee.
* If you wish to make a tax deductible contribution to support our efforts, scroll to the BOTTOM of this page for a link to our secure PayPal account.

What methods of removal are used?

* Depending on the type of structure, there are generally three methods of removing graffiti.
* Painting is used on most walls and buildings. Our team will try to match the existing color as closely as possible.
* Water blasting will be used on unpainted concrete surfaces such as curbs, sidewalks, cinder block walls etc.
* Chemical removal is used on surfaces such as metal light poles, street signs, trees, traffic control boxes etc.

What if the graffiti comes back?

Simply call the number or complete the Graffiti Removal Request Form online to have it removed again. However, if a location is frequently targeted by taggers, the ODS! Squad encourages property owners, merchants, and residents to remove the graffiti themselves, if able, as soon as it appears for two reasons: graffiti is easier to remove when it is fresh, and the quicker it is removed, the bigger the deterrent since it is costly for taggers to keep buying paint!
